There was no correspondence tabled.

Business Arising:

Terry Smidt raised the discussion regarding Limbach'sdemise.
Lindsay Tilley queried the state of the club's spare engine.
It was thought that the spare engine may very well become a certified engine due to the future unavailability of genuine Limbach spars. A car 35 certificate would be needed,
and it was likely that all Limbach owners would need to support this.
A member showed concern to all this, as the present RTO/A had a conflict of interest with Limbach spares being part of his business.

Harry Bache assured the meeting that Mike Burns, a previous RTO/A and car 35 signatory, would be able to sign out VW engines and parts when Limbach parts became unavailable.

It was moved by Lindsay Tilley andseconded by Rob Wintulich that some phone enquiries be made to relevantparties regarding the club's legal situation in regards to future engine maintenance and spare parts availability. Steve Burgess accepted the challenge and will contact John Viney ,the out going CTO, Nigel Baker RTO/A Mike Burns car 35 holder, and the new CTO, and report back to the Club's committee.Carried.

Terry Smidt moved a motion to have our spare engine inspected for external corrosion and to rectify any corrosion found and also that the engine be rolled several times to distribute the internal corrosion inhibitor. motion seconded by Franko Fonovic.
Carried.

Lindsay questioned flying fees and moved that the fees be set at the rate discussed last year namely $80 for engine on and $30 for air frame time.
Steve Blacketer seconded.Carried.

report was read and accepted, so moved Rob Wintulich and 2 by Lindsay Tilley.

Secretary's report was read and accepted, so moved Lindsay Tilley and 2Ray King

Treasurer’s report again was a very detailed annual document and copies were distributed to members. Bob explained the lower income due to the aircraft being out of the air for many months for major maintenance i.e. the 3000 hourly on the air frameand engine overhaul due to a prop strike and time interval.report was accepted.
So moved Baylee Roberts and 2 by Ray king.

The CFI report was accepted as read. So moved Bob Jenneson and 2 by Ray King.

Our SAGA representative Emilis Prelgauskas apologized for his late attendance and proceeded to report that all matters of importance had been attended to.

Terry Smidt proposed a vote of thanks to all retiring and present officers for their ongoing commitment and work and especially the engineers that facilitated the club 109 back into the air following the extensive ordeal of the 3000 hourly life extension programthe engine overhaul and prop replacement for the Murray Bridge Gliding Club.
Rob Wintulich seconded the proposal, there followed a generous applause.

General Business:
Steve Burgess gave a lecture regarding the danger to the 109 engine due to pilot error in not monitoring engine oil temperature before applying significant power. It is common knowledge that our 109 requires at least 80% power to move away on a grass surface and if the oil is not warm the oil pressure will be above red line causing possible oil line rupture and oil pump damage.
Steve continued his lecture in regard to engine off procedures.
It is noted that when the engine of the 109 is shut down for soaring flight the cylinder head temperature will fall rapidly to cold ambient air, followed by the oil temperature,
so it is most important that the engine is shut down in progressive stages so as not to create shock cooling which in turn will cause the heads to crack.
Having shut down the engine even for a short time we now need to treat the restart as a first of the day cold start I.E. very low revs until the oil temperature is back in the green and the cylinder head temperature approaches 100dC. So it becomes very necessary to allow enough altitude to have time for all this to happen.
The next lecture looked at the problem of landing engine off. Engine off landing is deemed appropriate forgliding and is highly recommended by the GFA., however, in a busy circuit like Murray Bridge it can be quite demanding, I.E. we can be holding up traffic due to having to restart and warm up the engine.
It Has been suggested that all engine off landings at Murray Bridge be done on the grass alongsidethe main runway so that a proper warm up can be done without hurry.
With this in mind Steve Burgess moved that the club research a way to inhibit the tacho clock to only record time when air speed is above 30 knots. This was thought to be a good incentive for pilots who want to hurry their warm up procedures. The motion was seconded by Bob Jenneson. Carried.
In closing Steve noted that all pilots flying the 109 should be displaying good airmanship and be able to make good and appropriatedecisions at all times.

Emilis Prelgauskas arrived at 5.20pm with apologies.

It was noted that the double white cross is no longer displayed at the windsock.
In further discussion it was agreed that Bill Antell Be notified with the view to having the double white cross restored.
Moved Rob Wintulich, seconded Emilis Prelgauskas.

Steve Blacketer put forward a proposal to have a flying expedition to lake Eye, and camp out for two nights at William creek. All agreed it was a good idea.
Steve will conduct a fez ability study and contact William Creek re permission etc.

Franko Fonovic has been working feverously behind the scenes applying for state and commonwealth grants.
He and Lindsay Tilly are aiming to acquire a few items for our club aircraft.
Namely : Head phones ; An Ipad: A new canopy : A new radio :etc etc ..

They have obtained endorsements for their enterprise , Namely:

SAGAJohn Ridge.
RegionalDevelopment Australia. Murray Lands & River land Inc.Darryl Webb
Murray Mallee Community Health Service.Donna.
Rural City of Murray Bridge.Barbara.
Mr Adrian Pederick (MP for Hammond office )Jane.

Steve Burgess has found two air cadets that wish to train at Murray Bridge .
They have won a scholarship to learn to fly. This will be worth around $5000.00
to the club. Paperwork has to be generated for this to happen and some of the work for this is already done.

Our treasurer Bob Jenneson has been asked to send an invoice to the Air Cadet flying school re the new propeller they have exchanged . this is to have the correct serial numbers correspond with the ownership. The MBGC expects the return propeller to be shipped to Murray Bridgein the next week or two.

There was no further business.

Meeting closed at 6.10 pm.

Secretary...Baylee Roberts....
