Minutes Committee Meeting MBGC 18/03/2010 . At Steve Blacketer's Stirling Home

Meeting commenced at 8.15 pm.

Present were: Steve Blacketer, Bob Jenneson, Lindsay Tilley, Emilis Prelgausgas, Baylee Roberts, Ray King, Rob Winterlich.

Apology received from Cecilia Ewenz.

Minutes of previous meeting were read and accepted. Carried.

Discussion commenced re the recovering of the club gliders seats. Ray King to investigate and report findings as soon as possible while the aircraft is out of the air.

All agreed that club meeting minutes be posted on the club's web site.

Bob Jenneson updated the meeting re the progress of the engine and propeller.
The new engine is now paid for but it is not known if the propeller has to be just repaired or over hauled. We are hoping to be flying again inside a month.
Finance re the situation is that the club has $7000.00 in the cheque account and may need about $1000.00 more to complete the repairs etc.

Thoughts on the spare engine the club has, revolved around selling it to the ultra light market or keeping it with thoughts of getting it certified if possible.

After a round discussion re the clubs flying fees, Steve Blacketer will provide a spread sheet with the aim to calculate all costs associated with the aircraft, Bob Jenneson to help with the number crunching. This to be the bases of setting and revising the flying fees.
So moved Rob Winterlich, seconded Baylee Roberts.

Due to Steve Burgess not being able to attend the meeting, discussions re the Air force Cadet Hanger were put on hold.

Rob Winterlich has asked if the club can lend the trailer to Steve Nelson to transport a fuselage from Mitcham to Goolwa.

Lindsay Tilley our CFI discussed the pro's and con's of landing the 109 with the engine off. (less risk of prop strike on landing).
This brought up the question of shock cooling the motor and the hazards of having to restart on the runway verses landing on the grass and making other aircraft give way.
It was proposed to hold the next committee meeting at the MBGC. On the 1st of May 2010.

Meeting closed at 9.20 pm and most enjoyed a sip or two of nice vintage.

Yours truly…
