MINUTES
for the meeting for the   Murray Bridge Gliding Club Inc.
held at      38 Brandreth St., Tusmore
on Thursday 14th February 2019

This is the first club meeting for 2019 and the first after completion of the Jamboree activity

1.0 Minutes of the October 2018 meeting

1.1 Items arising
2.3 in-club mentored engine routine maintenance accreditation
Steve progressing the spreadsheet and trainee logbook
BJ & Baylee nominated as trainers – to Limbach manual
on logbook completion Derek can sign off on limited accreditations to do
Limbach engine standard servicing.

2.0 President report
Rob reports – many positive outcomes since October meeting, due to unstinting inputs by most members. The result is reinvigoration and wider future for club. To notes in these Minutes.

3.0 Treasurer report

Centre console moulding invoice needed     ROB W

Greg reports that current expenses include fuselage refurbishment (invoice just received at less than quoted price) and item above, with some other long term invoices not yet received, noted below.
Balanced by club operating funds, investment to hand and payment received from Scouts for aircraft use, insurance contribution and fuel in hand.

Next member account issue is expected to include AEF pilot flying at Jamboree, Greg will extract these from the Scout flying records provided.

Greg would like to submit for small grant funding for items  assisting club growth and broadened outreach. Current membership less than the 20 minimum size for MBGC to be eligible.

4.0 CFI report
Steve advises that the club and its equipment and presentation are being well received by others. This opens the way to more collaborations – doing outlanding checks for pilots from other clubs, training such pilots to ‘touring’ endorsement to GFA rating + MBGC need to protect aircraft in use.

This includes club pilots flying the aircraft to other places as a matter of being visible. Including Flinders Ranges camps by other clubs – such as Adelaide SC 11-19 May

AFRs are coming up
EACH PILOT TO GO ON GFA WEB SITE AND ENTER THEIR DETAILS, IN PARTICULAR THEIR AFR DUE DATE

Annual spin check
AEF pilots may have flown hours to be eligible for bi-annual check.
Steve to arrange with AUGC/BVGC for a group spin check at Stonefield using their facilities/aircraft/aerotow.       STEVE B



5.0 Airworthiness report
FFQ wing has been delivered to Gawler, Stephen K looking at repair schemes with others including at-Gawler expertise.  no insurance claim intended

In cockpit head sets
PILOTS ARE ASKED TO PUT HEAD SETS IN FOOTWELL WHEN AIRCRAFT IS PARKED OUTDOORS - TO MINIMISE DEGRADATION FROM SUN HEAT

Peter is repairing existing head sets – will get parts via Flightstore/Qld to rebuild David Clark ones. Altronics type are nil repair.

Club will replace Baylee's 2 head sets damaged at Jamboree - Lindsay to check out            LINDSAY

VKR & FFQ have modern heads and run cooler; the club is to update GUD with new heads from N.Baker; expected to be $4k ready to install

club needs an open flat bed trailer for G109s.  Have used other peoples' trailers but these are  not easy without mods

7.0 kit car meet at The Bend and associated AEFs
Greg advises likely dates 31 Oct - 2 Nov 2019 with
150 attendees, based at Mt.Barker, only some can be accommodated on track at once, other locations include Collingrove, Birdwood, and Show&Shine

Greg is advocating AEFs from Pallamana including orbits over The Bend track action
