1.0 Minutes of April meeting

1.1 Items arising
1.1.1 Club SMS and Affiliation paperwork delivered to GFA
President submitted these to GFA. Copies are in the hangar on main table.
President will look at other club SMS, risk register to see whether updates to ours are required. ROB
1.1.2 SAGA Ops Club Audit Saturday 13th June
CFI advises positive feedback; more detail reviews than in past; emphasis on spin checks elsewhere by each pilot.
2.0 Operations report
2.1 Recommencement of operations and revised processes
Engine off landings trialled ok. This will continue to be standard procedure, where also engine on for 'touch & go' without landing is available.
Club will continue to operate with 2 pilots on board ALL PILOTS
to assist in engine temperature monitoring and management
2.2 Lindsay T will be away 1st July, returns 8 weeks
Emilis can be contacted for flying -
Steve will advise his availability to assist operations
Rob available for general contacts.
2.2 new members -
Clem Greham may fly with MBGC in a few weeks time
3.0 Airworthiness
BJ manages web site; expenses to achieve latest update approved

FFQ is now now using Magnatec 10W 30, helps engine temps
replacement electronic temp unit coming Peter to fit when it is to hand
(coming Wed working bee) will trial FFQ prop balance to then send unit back

VKR change to equipment set, no improvement in flight
oil change at 10 hours -
pilots to be very aware of operating engine temps including reduce power to stay at 180 deg or less
summer ops yet to be observed
Mods being chased for additional cooling.

4.0 Treasurer report
current $12k in bank
Rob to photograph FFQ log book and email to Greg for pilot account updates

repair costs: engine/prop ($7k) covered by insurance (& $1.5k excess)
and club work credit claim ($3k labour), plus parts bills ($3k)(NB not all parts yet billed)

5.0 CLUB SAFETY REVIEW
Delayed to next meeting, meanwhile Rob will circulate approved SMS to all members to read; then club can do 'risk register' and actual club safety review. ROB
6.0 Other business
6.1 enquiry by Peter Szell: Glenelg Probus club would like to know structure and costs of a group booking, introductory flights for a few people (how many can be catered for) -

6.2 Emilis spoke to attendance at an Air Cadet briefing where Air Force emphasis on 'Competency Based Training' and standardised delivery/key words is likely to filter across to evolving GFA processes as these fit the CASA power flying world view as well. And what this may mean in changes already being put in place (refresher training, procedure meetings, etc.) and pilot/club freedoms to fly.
